Poetry on Being Stuck

BEING STUCK The world is moving, but it feels I'm standing still, Just like a rigid and helpless hill. Which stands there unable to move, It got ideas that the world disapproves. But still it hopes for the best,  wishes for a happy sunset. The one where he is free from fears, Experiencing true happiness after many years. -Amrinder

Quote about Mourning

Mourning Quote Quote on mourning " While some parts in me, rejoiced the change, some parts still mourned for the darkness that resided within me for so long" -Amrinder. Sometimes we become comfortable with the darkness or the numbness of our soul that the idea of change scares us. While some accept this idea happily and willingly, some struggle to let go of that silent piece within them. They fear the unknown, they fear opening up to people again and showing them their raw self. What if the same past repeats itself? What if after a short moment of happiness, I'll be again thrown into the pitch black darkness? Thoughts like these scares as well as comforts them at the same time.      But if we don't move ahead, won't take a risk we would never know what lies ahead.  Allow your mind, your soul to mourn for the past and the darkness that you once felt within but also rejoice for the change, that will take you away from this darkness and will fi...

Daddy Long Legs Novel Summary

Daddy Long Legs By Jean Webster Daddy-Long-Legs-Novel-Summary Daddy long legs is a story of a young girl Jerusha (Judy) who has been raised in an orphanage. Her life changed when one of the orphanage trustee read an essay written by her and decided to pay for her college, the only condition being that judy must write him every month explaining how her studies were going and without expecting an answer in return. Along with her progess in studies Judy started sharing her thoughts, her joys and sorrows and petty hazards of her days. There were times when she felt lonely and would write an angry letter to the trustee, feeling sad for the fact that she never gets a reply. However by the end, she did get to know who the trustee was and that including the ending may surprise many. ABOUT JUDY: The main character Judy was realistic, imaginative, intelligent and opinionated character. I loved her mercilessly sharp and lively sense of humour. All in all, this book was fun to read. I saw thing...

Relevation Poetry

Relevation Poem on Relevation You dont even know, How hard it is , To open up when, you have kept everything in for so long. It may appear easy, But its like a tragic song, The one that is full of melody But hold a painful story, Where the end talks about defeat, Not a wonderful glory. It feels like being naked, And open to judgement. Their questions comes to you, like continous bombardment. Still they watch you, With a doubtful eye. Thinking that whatever you are saying, Is all a lie. Little do they know, That you showed them your all, You told about the things, That were taking a deeper toll. You thought that maybe you were understood, But you were misunderstood again. & now they are thinking that you caused them pain. How stupid the irony is, The one you felt will understand you the most, Turns out to be the person who is the most lost. Lost in the fight that whether or not he should believe you. Should he stay or leave you? I guess thats his decision...

Poetry on Test (Being Judged)

Test Test: Poetry Is it some kind of a test going on? Where I'm supposed to react a certain way, What if I fail at it? "I knew it would happen" you may say. I lag a lot, I know I do, But nothing false do I convey. For a closed book, To be an open one, That's a tough job I must say. -Amrinder I at times wonder that why we test others? Why we feel the need to judge others? Why we expect that a person whom we know and like should be perfect? Expecting good for them is not wrong, putting them in a box of our expectations and beliefs is wrong. Hoping them to live and react the way we like, is wrong. Every individual is different with different viewpoints. So lets just cherish the differences without any judgement and prejudice.

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini-Review

The Kite Runner is a heartbreaking journey of betrayal, guilt, hope and redemption written by Khaled Hosseini. This book portrays story of Amir, a young Afghan boy, who grew up with his friend Hassan in the then peaceful Kabul, before the Russian invasion and subsequent civil wars. The Kite Runner Book Review While Amir belonged to a rich family, Hassan belonged to lower caste Hazara Community, who lived with his father Ali in the backyard outside Amir's father house. Although the true background of Hassan was later revealed in the story, which would leave the readers in a pool of emotions. The book talked about Amir's relationship with his father, how he wanted his father to be proud of him, just the way he was proud of Hassan. Both the boys were highly competitive and excellent at flying kite. The story took a turn when during the Kite flying competition a traumatic event happened which made Amir betray his friend and left him emotionally wrecked and gradually separated t...

Holding Back Poetry

You know what's the most confusing feeling? Thinking that you are not good enough for someone or maybe they are too good for you. Sometimes it takes a toll on us. These insecure feelings can destroy any healthy relationship. What's more important is loving yourself first. One who cannot love himself/ herself can never wholly love someone else. Its okay to feel things, that's what makes us human but what is not okay is letting these things talk you out of wonderful relationships, situations and opportunities. Find your own way of letting things go either by letting someone know about them or by writing about them. Bloom first, then only you'll be able to share your fragrance with someone else. Holding Back Holding Back I hold back, But don't know why, I feel insignificant in my own eye. My insecurities block my mind, Stopping me to further unwind. Am I good enough? I question myself, This messes me up like a dark spell. I hope someday I can answer...

Unsaid Words poetry

Unsaid words Unsaid words Many unsaid words lingered between us, Just like the waves making a fuss. The curious gazes say it all, Making my skin to further crawl. It is me doing all wrong, Hurting you like a sad song. At times I can see your mind's wheel turn, Wanting me to further discern, To know if I'm being heartless, Making you to handle this mess. But its you who still stays there, Just like the precious air. Who helps me in my trace, Allowing me to nurture at my own pace. -Amrinder Sometimes its better to leave things unsaid, to hold back and think through. Say things when you absolutely mean it, not just for the sake of saying them. We never know what impact our words may have on someone else. While we may be sorting things out at our own pace we may unknowingly leave the person ahead in complete mess, to them the wait may be too much. But still there are people who wait, who let you open up at your own pace, who respect your boundaries and don...

Past Poetry

PAST POETRY Past Poetry They could never see me, Struggling on my on, Trying to decipher everything, But kept going on. They looked at me, but never searched, Further in the waves I surged. I did expected them to see, Save me from my misery, but all they put were allegations, forcing me to further run. The walls grew bit by bit, In my own house, I became a misfit. I became a dot, A mere spot, That just occupied space. All I searched were ways to , Have a narrow escape. To be away from my mind, To be free and unwind. It was a phase that has passed, Glad that it didn't last. -Amrinder Past is like an unhealed scar. A scar that penetrates its roots deep within us. Sometimes this bitter past is a result of bottled up emotions, miscommunication and distance. This scar at times leave us cold, numb and distant. Address the issues, feel the pain, let the past scar heal itself. "Time heals everything" remember this. A cold heart can again feel warmt...

Imperfect Poetry

Imperfect Poetry Imperfect Poetry IMPERFECT They want you to be perfect, To be the ultimate one, To be the center of everyone's attention Just like the sun.... But what if I'm the moon? The one with no light, The one that follows the sun, & swallow its pride. I reflect my ideas, Just like the moon. My mind creating tides, & in the darkness, is where I reside. I'm the imperfect one, Opposite of the perfect sun. But I am at peace with it, Happy being the imperfect misfit. -Amrinder I have always loved the moon, and can spend hours watching it. It's a symbol of hope, longing and serenity to me. The fact  that moon has nothing no air or gravity on it and still it is able to hold a strong place in the universe astonishes me, as if telling people that no matter how less we feel of ourselves, how imperfect we feel about ourselves, we still hold a value; a special place which only we are capable of filling. Unknowingly like the moon, we affec...

"For you, a thousand times over"- Kite Runner Quote Meaning

"For you, a thousand times over" This quote has been taken from the novel The Kite Runner, written by Khalid Hosseini. This quote has been used by Hassan for Amir. For You, A Thousand Times Over To me this quote is about loving someone, to an extent that you are willing to do anything and everything for them, even a thousand times over. We often associate the word love in a romantic way, but love is diverse. The kite runner depicts love of Hassan for his brother/ friend whom he lovingly called Amir Agha. This quote talks about love in which we put someone else's needs before our priorities, one is willing to do anything for the other person. This love is boundless. But, what I also want to add is self love is very important. At times we give someone such high value in our heart that we totally forget ourselves, our needs, desires, dreams etc. Love should lead to growth. The love where only one person is giving and is willing to do anything is not right. Love yoursel...
