Poetry on Being Stuck

BEING STUCK The world is moving, but it feels I'm standing still, Just like a rigid and helpless hill. Which stands there unable to move, It got ideas that the world disapproves. But still it hopes for the best,  wishes for a happy sunset. The one where he is free from fears, Experiencing true happiness after many years. -Amrinder

Reflection Poetry

Reflection Poetry Poetry-on-reflection It was like watching myself, In the river's reflection. The image which appeared, was far from perfection. It showed the real me, The one I was really searching. I wanted to talk to you, was all I was urging. The real self looked sad, As if I had let her down. She looked at me in distress, With a deep frown. I promised myself not to, let that real self die. There are some changes, which I should soon apply. I hope when we meet next, we both seem the same. Just like fire & its flame. -Amrinder Sometimes the image that we have imagined in our head is far from the image in reality. Looking in the mirror, trying to decipher that what's wrong, leaves us in pieces. Pieces that we are trying to reassemble according to the one in our brain. All it takes is time to accept the changes, the reflections that didn't align. Its all just a matter of time. So take a deep breathe and remember everything will be fine.

Fear Poetry

Sometimes fear can hold us back. Fear of not being good enough, fear of not being who you really are, fear of not being a perfect partner, a friend in need and a good human. Here is another poetry by me on fear.     Fear poetry Fear Poetry A fear crept in my soul, Taking a deeper toll. Its roots circled around my heart, withered every single part. I stood there with my pale face, waiting for the darkness to embrace. Its the place I really belong, For which I waited really long. I thought I was brave enough, to face all my fears. But it isn't as easy, as it appears. -Amrinder These are just feelings that we feel sometimes its in the form of dull ache or sometimes emptiness. Let the feelings sink in, feel and move on. What I would also recommend is to start channelizing those negative feelings into some productive ways. For example- I write those negative emotions and let them out of my mind. This way emotions don't bottle up and I feel good. Photo by  ...

Numb Poetry

At times we just feel so numb and empty that it gets difficult to think things straight. But I guess that's how we are, sometimes sensitive and sometimes emotionless. Here is another poem written by me. I hope you all like it. Numb Poetry NUMB POETRY I don't really know what I feel I have been numb for a long time.. Been smiling all day & pretending, everything is fine. I scream aloud, but no avail. I drown a little in my pretentious veil. I search my mind for all the answers, But all it keeps is mum. All I just want is a day, when I wont feel this numb. - Amrinder Although its just an emotion but if someone is feeling this way really strongly then I would recommend talking to someone. Sometimes we overanalyze stuff which makes it difficult to see the clear picture. So step back, relax, share what's on your mind with someone and remember "This too shall pass."

The life story of Buddha

Buddha also known as Siddhartha was born in Lumbini to an aristocratic family. He was as Barth says the finished model of calm and sweet majesty. The life story of Buddha Early life On the fifth day of his birth, his father King Suddhodana summoned eight wise men to choose the baby's name and speak of his future. The wisemen kept his name Siddhartha meaning the one who has accomplished a goal and declared that either he will become a cakravarti (a universal monarch) or a samma- sambuddha, a supremely enlightened person who would deliver humanity from ignorance.  Obviously, the king wanted the former. He started keeping Siddhartha away from life's miseries, he built three palaces for him each for a season, married him to Princess Yasodhara hoping that Siddhartha would be his worthy successor but with age and maturity his search for truth and enlightenment only heightened. True Reality: One day when Siddhartha was going on his chariot he saw an old m...

Opposite: Poetry

These days I'm trying to write poetry or I should say its just a beginners attempt in writing feelings. www.sincerelyjoshi.com OPPOSITES We are the opposite, Like innocent & culprit. I'm distant, superficial & cold as ice. While he is fire, sensible and nice. Sometimes I feel he settled for less, But that's something I could only guess. He is the universe, While I'm a dot. Lets see how this story unfolds..... -Amrinder The beauty of Opposites is that they always attract. The idea of liking something or someone completely different from our personality is ecstatic. This phenomenon is not only related to romance but also in friendships where two friends who are like poles apart help each other to see things with different perspective and notions.

Just Random Thoughts

Poetry-on-Just-random-thoughts My mind is hazy, My vision cloudy, I hear voices, But those are merely noises. At times I'm numb & at times sensitive. I feel too much, But mostly negative. Tired I lay down, thinking things will be alright. Keeping all hopes on, almighty right.              -Amrinder Interpretation: At times our mind becomes so clueless that we are not able to think straight, or see the logic behind things. Just remember that all this is normal and completely okay. Don't let the negative feelings overwhelm you. God has a plan for everyone of us. Just believe in him and keep going on Sooner or later things will make sense.

The Lottery by Shirley Jackson Review

THE LOTTERY The-Lottery-Shirley-Jackson My Interpretation of the story: The Lottery is a short story by Shirley Jackson. The word lottery may confuse a lot of people here. Though lottery means some reward drawn at random but here the meaning is completely different. The story shows that how easily people justify things by the name of tradition, how superstitions are given more importance than logic and how life is considered nothing before these traditions. They hardly even question themselves that: Is this tradition which we are following humane enough or lacks humanity? The story focuses on a tradition which takes place in a small town where people stone one unfortunate person to death and what bothers more is that none of them is seen to be affected by it. What I liked the most was the writing style, how the end was completely different from the start, the two pictures that the author tried to bring to life were completely different and unexpected. The story started with how the ...

THE THREE QUESTIONS- Leo Tolstoy

The three questions is a  short story written by Leo Tolstoy (1828-1910) who is known as one of the world's greatest writers. He is best known for his novels War and peace and Anna Karenina. The-Three-Questions-By-Leo-Tolstoy My Interpretation about this story: This story is about a king's quest to get answer to his three questions: What is the right time for every action?, Who are the most important people for me? and the final question What is the most important thing to do? He thought that if he knew answers to these questions he would succeed in everything he might undertake. His quest took him to an old hermit who instead of answering his questions directly, let him experience and realize the answers through some events. The king not only got his answers but also turned his enemy into his friend by offering him help and assistance. The king now knew that the most important time is now, the person with whom he is at the moment is the most important and the action to do...

"For you, a thousand times over"- Kite Runner Quote Meaning

"For you, a thousand times over" This quote has been taken from the novel The Kite Runner, written by Khalid Hosseini. This quote has been used by Hassan for Amir. For You, A Thousand Times Over To me this quote is about loving someone, to an extent that you are willing to do anything and everything for them, even a thousand times over. We often associate the word love in a romantic way, but love is diverse. The kite runner depicts love of Hassan for his brother/ friend whom he lovingly called Amir Agha. This quote talks about love in which we put someone else's needs before our priorities, one is willing to do anything for the other person. This love is boundless. But, what I also want to add is self love is very important. At times we give someone such high value in our heart that we totally forget ourselves, our needs, desires, dreams etc. Love should lead to growth. The love where only one person is giving and is willing to do anything is not right. Love yoursel...

Book Summary- The man who planted trees

The man who planted trees is a short story by Jean Giono. This story is about a shepherd who single handedly converted a deserted land into a new forest. Book summary of the man who planted trees Summary: The story begins when the narrator decides to take a hiking trip through provence and into the alps. On his way, he reached a deserted, barren area where hardly anything grows. Only wild lavender can be found in this region. On his journey, he runs out of water and his search of water leads him to a shepherd named Elzeard Bouffier, who gave him water and took the narrator to his cottage. Curious about his way of living and laconic tone the narrator decides to stay with him for the time. He gets to know that after losing his son and wife, the old shepherd decided to reside his life in solitude. He would separate good acorns from the bad ones and plant those on the barren land.
